ANDERSEN-ANDERSEN was founded in 2009 by Peter, who was the art director, and his wife, Katherine Andersen.

Like other maritime nations, Denmark once had a thriving knitwear industry. However, even in this land, a serious shortage of knitters was causing its tradition to decline.

Amidst this, the Andersen couple, in order to pass on the unique culture inherited by the Normans to future generations, researched traditional knitting techniques and patterns, sought out the finest yarns, and gathered knitters who could produce products with them to launch the brand ANDERSEN-ANDERSEN.

Among ANDERSEN-ANDERSEN's offerings, the navy crewneck sweater is considered a classic. It draws inspiration from traditional Danish knitwear designs, but incorporates modern details and is made with the finest materials.

The pattern, which can be worn with either the front or back facing forward, is a functional design inspired by the knitwear worn by sailors. The longer cuffs have thumbholes, so they also function as arm warmers.

The wool knit material used is merino wool, considered the finest type of wool. Because it is tightly twisted, it is less prone to pilling and retains its shape well.

By combining traditional details and patterns with modern functionality, this brand can be said to be passing on Danish knitwear culture to future generations.
