Inverallan is a brand that originated in the Aran Islands and was created by gathering excellent knitters mainly from Scotland, in order to keep the tradition of knitwear, characterized by its unique knit patterns, alive.

Made with the highest grade Aran yarn and twisted thickly using traditional methods, this knit is made from unwashed pure wool, resulting in a soft feel and excellent water resistance. Compared to regular knits, it is more tightly woven, making it breathable yet relatively windproof, which is a major advantage.

This brand, which is said to have 3,000 registered knitters, selects the appropriate knitter according to the difficulty level of the knit, and basically, each item is knitted by a single knitter from start to finish.

Therefore, it's not uncommon for a single knit garment to take six months from yarn procurement to completion, with 25,000 stitches taking 90 hours to produce.

As proof that they are hand-knitted and have undergone rigorous quality checks, each item comes with a certificate signed by the knitter. In addition, wool products supplied by Inverallan to their Japanese distributor have brown tags, and cotton products have gray tags, making them distinguishable from those with green tags that are directly imported from the UK.

The collared cardigan pictured is thick enough to keep your neck warm when the collar is turned up, making it a versatile piece that can also be worn as an outer layer. The striking cable knit pattern and the trinity stitching on the inside of the sleeves, designed with ease of movement in mind, are truly characteristic of Inverallan. Furthermore, the "Inverallan Sportswear Authentic" brand was launched as a casual line in the fall/winter of 2017, but this line is machine-knitted.
