WOOLRICH

Black jacket with buttons and a hoodie with fur

America's oldest outdoor brand.
1830 | PENNSYLVANIA, USA | John Rich II

WOOLRICH is known as America's oldest outdoor brand. Its long history began when John Rich II built America's first woolen mill. Soon after, they started producing socks and blankets, and when the Civil War began, they supplied blankets for the Union Army, expanding their production capacity.

Later, the company began manufacturing hunter jackets and pants. The vibrant red and black buffalo check pattern, which the company created to prevent accidental shootings between hunters in the forest, has become an iconic symbol of American wear. Incidentally, WOOLRICH was also the first company to use zippers in men's trousers (slacks).

During World War II, the company was recognized by the military as "America's most reliable company," capable of handling everything from raw material supply to finished product manufacturing, and its high quality was acknowledged by the military. In 1972, when the pipeline was being built from Alaska to the United States, the Arctic Parka was developed as cold-weather clothing capable of withstanding temperatures as low as -40°C. It later became famous for being adopted as bench warmer wear for the prestigious Italian football team AC Milan. It is popular for its smart silhouette, which combines abrasion resistance and breathability with 60/40 cloth and is generously filled with down, while suppressing the bulkiness typical of down.

Backed by over 180 years of history, the brand's high quality and commitment to upholding the traditions of American casual wear without being swayed by trends will undoubtedly continue to earn its support.
